DreamQuarters App – Privacy Policy

Note: This is the English version of our app privacy policy, intended for App Store reviewers and international users. The legally binding version is the German version. The website is covered by a separate website privacy policy.

2) What data we process and why

Anonymous browsing. You can browse listings, stallions, coaches and courses without signing in. We do not collect personal identifiers in this mode.

Account & sign-in. Available sign-in methods are email sign-in (we send you a sign-in link by email), "Sign in with Apple", and sign-in with Google. If you create an account, we store your email address, display name and a unique user ID to provide the service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). With "Sign in with Apple" we receive only the Apple-relayed email address, if you choose so. With Google, the email address and name linked to your Google account are transmitted to us.

Listings & content. Anything you publish (listings, photos, profile data, messages) is stored so it can be displayed in the app and on the website (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Listings are public.

Push notifications. Only if you opt in via the iOS system dialog. A push token is then generated via Apple's push service (APNs) in combination with Firebase Cloud Messaging, which we store to send you matches, replies and listing reminders (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent). You can revoke this anytime in iOS Settings.

Reports & blocks. When you report or block a user/content, we store the report content, timestamp and parties involved to keep the platform safe (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Digital Services Act compliance).

Diagnostics (Crashlytics). We use Firebase Crashlytics to detect crashes. It collects technical data (device model, iOS version, language, anonymous install ID, stack trace) that is not linked to your name or email (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Children. The app is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly process their personal data.

3) Recipients / processors

  • Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin D04 E5W5, Ireland – Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics. Data Processing Agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place.
  • Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland – App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple, Apple Push Notification Service (APNs).
  • Mailgun Technologies, Inc., 112 E Pecan St #1135, San Antonio, TX 78205, USA – sending transactional emails (email sign-in links and notification emails). It processes your email address and the email content. A Data Processing Agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place. The transfer to the USA is based on Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).

International transfers: Data may be transferred to the United States via these services. Both Google LLC and Apple Inc. are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (EU Commission adequacy decision, Art. 45 GDPR).

4) Retention

  • Account data: until you delete your account.
  • Listings and content: until you delete them or your account.
  • Push token: until you revoke push consent, uninstall the app, or delete your account.
  • Reports / blocks: up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised, unless legally required to keep longer.
  • Crashlytics diagnostics: up to 90 days (Firebase default).
  • Server log files: typically up to 30 days for error analysis.

5) Account deletion (in-app)

You can delete your account directly inside the app, without contacting us:

Profile → Settings → Account → "Delete account"

On confirmation we immediately delete your account, listings, profile data and stored push token. Records we are legally required to keep (e.g. invoices) will be restricted from further processing and deleted at the end of the statutory retention period.

Alternatively, email dreamquartersde@gmail.com to request deletion.

6) Tracking

We do not track you. The DreamQuarters iOS app uses no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics), no advertising identifiers (IDFA), and no cookies. We therefore do not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt.

7) Your GDPR rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 15–21, Art. 7(3) GDPR). To exercise these rights, email dreamquartersde@gmail.com.

Automated decision-making, including profiling (Art. 22 GDPR), does not take place.

8) Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the Member State of your residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.

The competent supervisory authority for the controller is: Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany.

9) Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app or legal requirements. The current version is always available at /en/app-privacy.
