Buyer's guide How to evaluate a breeding stallion
When selecting a breeding stallion (Quarter Horse, Paint or Appaloosa), three criteria matter most: proven progeny with competition records in Reining, Cutting or Pleasure, clean genetic test results for PSSM1, HERDA, GBED and HYPP, and flexible breeding options — frozen semen shippable across Europe, fresh-chilled or natural service. Also evaluate conformation: clean joints, a well-muscled hindquarter and a balanced way of going are reliable signs that a stallion can genuinely pass his quality to his offspring.

Questions & answers
Breeding FAQ
What does breeding a mare cost?
Each stud station sets its own fee — it is listed on the individual stallion. Shipping, vet costs and possibly board for the mare come on top.
Fresh, frozen or live cover?
Fresh semen is the regional standard, frozen makes distant stallions reachable, live cover is the exception with western stallions. Each profile states what is offered.
What should I look for when choosing?
Match to the mare, not the name alone: pedigree, show record, genetic testing (the 5-panel is standard for Quarter Horses) — and see the stallion's foals in person if you can.
How do I list my stallion?
Via "List your stallion" — a listing runs for one year and stands equal to every other. We do not sell top spots.
